9 days with 7 days cycling
Total distance: 480miles/770km route
Total elevation of climbing: 14,330m of climbing
From Santander, on the coast of Cantabria, in northern Spain, you will make an astounding 7 day cycling journey through Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia to reach the end of the earth in Finisterre, situated on the small stretch of western Spanish coastline. Together with challenging days of climbing and descending from one pass to another you will encounter days that are slightly more relaxing. Travelling across the north west Spain you will see magnificent landscapes and taste the cultures of 3 incredibly beautiful regions. What makes this trip special is the appearance of the St James Way mid week, otherwise known as the 'Camino de Santiago'. Although primarily a walking path we ride parallel to it on smooth roads, following parts of the main route, passing through Santiago before we reach the Atlantic Ocean. On your journey you will follow some iconic climbs that were used in the Spanish Vuelta. If its fitness you want to improve then this trip will not disappoint you.
