Cuenca, is a very unique place situated 950m up high, in the mountains east of Madrid. This destination is absolutely wonderful for road cyclists looking for an easier option with some challenges. The routes are shorter and consist of one climb and one descent each day. Most of the riding is done above Cuencas high altitude location, in the extensive natural park, said to be the largest in Spain, so be prepared to be riding above 1000m each day. The historical village where we stay for the week has been declared a monumental treasure and the surrounding landscape is like no other nature you have seen before. Roads are very quiet and the conditions are perfect for this beautiful setting in spring.
